Tests are administered the last Friday of the month (unless otherwise noted). Testing begins at 8:00 a.m. Applicants need to report to the Building Department. Applications, along with the required fee, need to be received in the Building Department two weeks prior to testing. Fees are as follows:
A letter will be sent to applicant indicating pass or failure. Upon passing, a City of Fremont license will be issued in the City Clerk’s Office. It is necessary for you to take your original letter to the Clerk’s office. You can contact the City Clerk’s office at 727-2634 to obtain licensing information.
* Electrical Test – An open book test using the 2008 National Electrical Code. If applicant fails the test, the electrical examination can be taken again the following month.
**Plumbing/Mechanical Test – This is a closed book test. A waiting period of two months is required before retaking a failed exam.
